375 Central Vacuum Power Unit The Limited Edition PU375 central vacuum brings together all the best qualities of Electrolux central vacuums in one model. Exceptional performance with a class leading suction motor, sophisticated control system with built in motor protection and slow-start feature, durable cold form steel chassis with powder coat paint, low noise Quiet-Pac sound insulation system and easy maintenance with latched lightweight collection bin for bagless use with optional paper bag converter available. The LE 375 can be fitted to all existing systems with adaptable left or right side intake connection which makes the PU375 great for both new construction systems and as a replacement for old power units.

The black color PU375’s are manufactured by Electrolux for many other companies to market as their own brand in a practice called "private labeling" . Private label units are built the same as other Electrolux central vacuums, usually with a different color paint. These PU375’s were never stickered with the private label brand name but do include all of the original components and are available in a very limited quantity from Vacdepot. EHCP (Electrolux Home Care Products) builds several versions of the 375 model for others and it’s own brands (Honeywell H703, BEAM 375) . All 375 series power units include the same basic building blocks; Ametek 119992-00 5.7” dual stage suction motor, ECS 120V control module, 12” diameter tall steel suction body, lightweight ABS collection bin, ATLIS (adaptable twist lock intake system) tube connector and Quiet-Pac low noise motor compartment.

375 Central Vacuum Power Unit The various Electrolux and private label brand models of the 375 will vary in color, bin lock design, built in utility port and electrics warranty. This unbranded version PU375 includes an excellent mix of features from the series including a Triumph HEPA filter media, Quiet-Pac sound insulator with included Sound-Off muffler, metal collection bin clamps, built-in utility inlet and lifetime body with 5 year motor and control board manufacturers warranty. With only a limited number of PU375's available there will be no backorders and a strict sales limit of one unit per customer.

The 375 series power unit is rated by the manufacturer for cleaning spaces up to 8,000 square feet. Most applications that employ the 375 power unit successfully will be sized from 2,000 up to 5,000 square feet in a single story (slightly more for multi-level), have 3 - 12 hose inlets and use up to 175 feet of tubing for the longest run.

You can calculate the longest run of your system design by measuring the distance in tubing from the farthest inlet to vacuums systems exhaust tip. Longest run is not the "total amount of tube" used for the vacuum system, only the farthest inlet (some vacuum tube systems may have 300 feet of tubing but only use 75 feet for the longest run). The PU375 power unit has a wide range of coverage and offers a comfortable margin of performance for 99% of all US residences. Homes under five thousand square feet with 12 or fewer inlets need not calculate longest run when using the PU375.

375 Central Vacuum Power Unit The 375 series power unit is the most popular of the EHCP manufactured vacuums because the systems design covers such a wide range of applications, has sufficient capacity without being overly large, and is one of the most quiet central vacuum power units on the market. Perhaps why the 375 series is so successful has most to do with value for performance, i.e. Bang for the Buck. All EHCP 375 series vacuums use the Ameket-Lamb 119992 dual stage AirWatt series suction motor. The AirWatt series suction motors employ a unique tapered dual fan system.

Tapered fans can bring in a larger volume of air per revolution than standard flat fan stages with similar resistance. The 375’s AirWatt series motor produces a maximum 600 airwatts of cleaning performance. The new AirWatt series motors are 50% more powerful than dual stage motors used in EHCP central vacuums used just 8 years ago. The 119992 suction motor has dual 5.7” fan stages and can produce a maximum 140 CFM of airflow and 125 inches of static lift. Ametek-Lamb suction motors are the gold standard in our industry offering superior quality of components, design and longevity.

375 Central Vacuum Power Unit The 119992 suction motor also features a tangential exhaust system that routes the heated working air out of the motor though a built-in duct called an exhaust horn. This is a significant advantage in both power and reliability to lower quality vacuum systems that employ thru-flow cooling. Instead of using the vacuumed (worked) air to cool the motor the tangential by-pass motor uses a separate fan to draw cooling air from the surrounding environment.

The separate cooling fan always supplies airflow to the motors working components, and this cooling air is of a lower temperature than worked air which has been heated by compression. The result is overall lower motor temperatures, better performance and part of a longer life. The 375's suction motor also uses dual ball bearings on the motors armature, this also provides longer life.

The Ametek motor also features owner replaceable carbon motor brushes which can further extend the motor life up to 50% with replacement. Service work on the PU375 is simple for most DIY's, and the ability to replace carbon brushes yourself is a great option not easily available in all central vacuum systems. Guaranteed for 5 years, you can expect the suction motor to last for much more thanks to excellent build quality and ECS protection systems.

375 Central Vacuum Power Unit The suction motor and all vacuum operations are controlled by a solid state ECS (Electrolux Control System) module. This multi-layered control board holds the low voltage starting relay, 24 volt power transformer, utility override power switch, soft start motor protection, over heat motor protection and low-volt connection jacks. The ECS is a firmware driven smart control system which monitors the motor via feedback and actively checks system operations while in use. The ECS protects the motor from overheating damage and extends motor life with a built in slow-start feature. Slow-start prevents the damaging jolt of inrush current when the power unit is activated by slowly feeding power into the motor, allowing the system to spin up over a few seconds of time before the full power is applied.

The ECS also controls the low-voltage signal system that activates the power unit from the in-wall hose inlets. The low-volt control system is universal and works with all central vacuum wall inlets. Wires are connected with easy speaker style connection that does not require special wire terminals or connectors. An external override power switch is positioned at the top of the vacuum canister which allows you to switch on the suction motor for use with the tank mounted utility inlet.

375 Central Vacuum Power Unit A green LED light on the power switch lets you know the unit has power and is ready to clean in standby mode. In standby mode the unit is only activated by the 24V AC relay from the wired vacuum inlets. The power switch is actually an over-ride switch that allows you to turn the system on manually for use with the utility inlet. Power is supplied to the system with a detachable 6ft power cord, included with the vacuum cleaner. The LE 375 plugs in to a standard 120 volt electric outlet. The outlet should be wired on a standard 20 amp circuit breaker. A dedicated circuit is best as the PU375 requires nearly 15 amps which would limit other uses for the circuit when the vacuum is running.

375 Central Vacuum Power Unit The Limited Edition PU375 employs four separate functions for low noise operation to achieve an amazing 65.9 dba rating. The motor compartment features part of the patented Quiet-Pac® sound insulator with a full wrap of sound deadening low density foam and a foam seal for the exhaust horn that extends through the motor compartment wall to keep noise inside the unit. An internal motor cooling exhaust diffuser prevents airflow noise from escaping thought the cooling vents in the motor compartment. A second lining of noise defusing foam is used on the vacuums top-plate. The top-plate separates the motors cooling fan from the motors working components so cooling air is not mixed with exhausting heated air.

Finally a separate cover made from durable ABS tops the vacuum system giving it a rounded shape and further suppressing motor intake noise with built in airflow baffles. The baffles work to change the direction of cool airflow intake which breaks up the noise working much like an automotive muffler. With the motor compartment noise significantly reduced Electrolux adds an exhaust muffler to diffuse the noise of exiting worked air from the vacuum.

375 Central Vacuum Power Unit Exhaust mufflers are now standard with all of the better quality vacuum systems and are exceptionally effective at reducing system noise. The BEAM Sound-Off muffler includes locking connectors with custom connection elbow that allows the muffler to point straight up or down and keeps the muffler in place. The Sound-Off exhaust muffler does not restrict airflow, instead it diffuses the noise by breaking up the airflow. Adding the exhaust muffler to the vacuum system keeps the power unit quiet enough to vent inside the garage or basement. Add the muffler to your external exhaust and noise will be significantly reduced at the exit point.

The final low noise component of the PU375 does not conceal airflow sounds, but suppresses unwanted noise from vibration and vibration transmission. The suction motor is isolated from the canister body with a rubberized fan gasket on the bottom and foam compression ring on the top. The suction motor is compressed between the two and "floats" with no direct linkage between the suction motor and the canister body. Most vacuum systems use bolts or other connectors to attach the motor directly to the vacuum body which easily transmits motor vibrations. The isolated motor can not transmit it's full vibration noise into the metal vacuum body, greatly reducing humming and rattle noises common in standard central vacuums. The Electrolux low noise Quiet-Pac® sound suppression system in one of the most comprehensive in the industry and the result is one of the lowest noise emission central vacuums in production.

375 Central Vacuum Power Unit Innovative engineering like the Electrolux Control System and Quiet-Pac® noise suppression system is also found in many other parts of the EHCP 375. One exclusive innovation is the ATLIS (Adaptable Twist Lock Intake System) connectors. The PU375 has three intake openings on the steel canister body. Two tubing intake ports are available for connection, one on the left side or one on the right side of the unit.

If you need to move the tube intake connection from one side to the other you simply twist the connectors which unscrews from the vacuum body. Twist the block-off plate from the other side and swap the two. The adjustable intake makes installation easier and allows you to match an old system if you are using the PU375 to replace or upgrade an existing unit. The third intake is a manual utility port on the front of the vacuum. The utility port allows you to connect a low-volt or universal central vacuum hose directly to the vacuum for cleaning in the same area as the vacuum.

375 Central Vacuum Power Unit The utility port is a great way to vacuum in a garage or basement using a vacuum hose to quickly clean the car, workbench or just clean lint from the clothes dryer. The tube intake port, utility hose port and the block off plate can all be moved into any position with a simple twist off. As long as all three ports are fitted with a connector or block-off plate, you can attach the connectors in any configuration you desire.

Filtration and collection on the PU375 power unit is also user configurable. The power unit comes standard as a permanent filter bagless collection system. Dirt laden air is brought into the vacuum where a permanent filter separates the dirt from air, sending filtered air out of the vacuum and dropping the collected dirt into the collection bin on the bottom of the vacuum. The LE375 uses Electrolux's exclusive Triumph© HEPA media permanent filter. The filter is self maintaining, never needs replacement - lasting the life of the machine.

375 Central Vacuum Power Unit The center weighted cone shaped filter hangs down in the center of the vacuum body. Each time the vacuum is turned on or off the filter moves up and down, flexing as it changes shape which sheds debris off the filter and into the collection bin. The 4 gallon collection bin holds a large amount of debris and requires emptying only every 2 - 3 months for most homes. Permanent filter units like the PU375 also provide excellent motor protection as only filtered clean airflow is sent through the motors impeller system.

The Triumph© HEPA filter media retains 99% of sub-micron sized particles which not only protects the suction motor but also allows venting of the power unit inside the garage or basement without the worry of fine dust escaping from the unit. Maintenance of the system involves unlatching the collection bin and dumping out the debris into a garbage bag. A fill level window on the collection bin allows you to see how much debris is inside the vacuum without taking off the bucket.

A second collection system is available for the PU375 with the paper bag conversion system. The paper bag converter allows the use of large sealed disposable bags in the vacuum to simplify collection bin maintenance. Disposable vacuum bags with a hygienic sealing collar fit over the optional paper bag intake converter forcing all debris into the disposable bag. When the bag is full you easily disconnect it, toss it and install a new bag for quick and clean maintenance of your central vacuum. 375 Central Vacuum Power Unit

The PU375 Limited edition central vacuum power unit provides the performance power, convenience of use and field proven reliability you expect of branded central vacuum power units that sell for twice as much. The unbranded PU375 skips the sticker and saves you hundreds of dollars over a nearly identical power unit in a different color sold at the local vacuum store.

The PU375 is an excellent vacuum to add in your new construction project and one of the most popular designs used in replacement of old, broken or under performing central vacuum power units. The Limited Edition power unit offers intelligent, low noise operation combined with a genuine Lamb Powered class leading suction motor with bagless Triumph© HEPA filtered collection system.
