Upper filter frame is dome shaped with ridged supports to prevent filling bags from "sealing off" against the filter maintaining airflow. The lower frame supports the pleated filter media which is sealed into the frame with a cured sealant. The outer rim of the lower HEPA filter frame has a rubberized gasket that seals against the upper frame when snapped together. When installed onto a vacuum motor, all air passing through the filter media is cleansed of pollen, mold spores, ragweed and pet dander. HEPA filter media will remove 99.97% of all particulate that is 0.3 microns or larger before it passes through the motor and exhausted through the machine.

Under heavy usage or when using the filter in a vacuum with standard, non-micro bags you should replace every six months. On those vacuums with regular or household usage and those using micro-filter style bags replacement need only be made every nine to twelve months. The backpack HEPA filter is made of micro-fiber media and should not be water washed. This HEPA filter does not include the standard Sandia bag support plate of non-HEPA models but uses a dome filter housing. Fits all 5.7" vacuum motors from Ametek (Lamb, GO2K, QS) and GS Electric.
